Question:
I am 29 years old and delivered my baby 9 months ago. Since delivery, my hair has never stopped falling out, not only in the shower, but I see hair all over my house, my car, and my office. I’ve read many articles about post-pregnancy hair loss on the internet, and everybody says its temporary and lasts about 6 months. I’m 9 months out and still losing hair. Will there be an end to this?
Answer:
Hair loss doesn’t always fall into neat categories and sometimes has multiple causes. Though your balding condition may be very temporary as is common for women post-pregnancy, there may be other factors contributing to it worth exploring and hopefully, ruling out.
Let a dermatologist perform a full medical evaluation and scalp biopsy to see if there may be another contributing factor to your female hair loss condition. Depending on the findings, a proper treatment can be recommended.
